At Tahoe Flow Arts & Fitness, we often get asked: “Why don’t you offer classes in Truckee?” “Can you bring aerial to Incline?” “Will you ever open another studio?”

We love that people want more of what we do, it means something is working. But we’ve also made some very conscious decisions as a business and as a team about how we grow, and where we put our energy.

The short answer is this: Our goal isn’t to be everywhere. Our goal is to build something deep, sustainable, and excellent, right here under our roof (or as we like to call it, under the big top 😉).

Why We’ve Consolidated Our Program

Aerial arts are magical, but they’re also complex. The equipment, rigging, safety standards, insurance, and staffing costs are all significant. Running an aerial program isn’t like rolling out yoga mats, it requires high ceilings, strong rigging points, specialized instruction, and an enormous amount of care and oversight.

Instead of spreading ourselves thin trying to teach in multiple locations, we’ve chosen to focus our resources on creating a comprehensive, high-quality program in one place.

That means:

  • A thoughtfully designed curriculum with clear levels and progression.
  • A path to mastery, so students can truly grow instead of dabbling without direction.
  • Performance opportunities that celebrate the artistry and dedication of our community.

We’ve worked hard to make sure our students have a space to evolve, not just a class to drop into once in a while. That’s how we build confidence, skill, and a lasting community.

The Health of the Business Matters Too

We also want to be transparent: our pricing, scheduling, and program structure aren’t random, they reflect the real costs of doing business in Tahoe and the value of what we offer.

We pay our teachers well because they are incredibly skilled professionals. Many have decades of training, certifications, and performance experience. We maintain high safety standards and invest in our facilities, equipment, and insurance.

Our prices allow us to continue doing this work sustainably, to keep the lights on, the rigging safe, the teachers supported, and the programs evolving.

We don’t take any of that for granted. We’re constantly looking for ways to balance accessibility with sustainability. That’s why we offer programs like:

  • The Kelly Smiley Scholarship Fund, which supports access to aerial and movement arts in honor of our beloved friend and teacher Kelly, whose passion for this work continues to inspire everything we do.
  • Our Community Wellness Program, designed to make classes more affordable for local working people who need access to wellness the most.

How You Can Support This Community

We truly believe Tahoe Flow Arts & Fitness is something special, a space where strength, art, and wellness meet. But to keep growing, we need our community’s support.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Show up! Every class you attend, every membership you maintain, directly supports our teachers and keeps our programs alive.
  • Spread the word. Tell your friends, share our posts, and invite someone new to class. Word of mouth is everything in a small town.
  • Invest locally. Your dollars matter. When you choose to spend them here, you’re helping sustain local jobs, community wellness, and a one-of-a-kind studio experience.
  • Be part of the conversation. We love feedback, but more than that, we love involvement. Join us in the arena, not on the sidelines.

A Shared Vision

We’re not just running classes, we’re cultivating a space for transformation, connection, and joy. The decision to consolidate our program wasn’t about limiting growth; it was about nurturing it the right way.

We’re proud of what we’ve built, and we’re even more excited about where we’re headed, with you by our side.
So come fly with us, flow with us, and be part of something that’s bigger than a class schedule. This is your community, your studio, your Tahoe Flow.

With gratitude and love,
The Tahoe Flow Arts & Fitness Team 💫
