Who is the ideal TFAF Academy Student?
A TFAF Academy student is looking to take their training and performance progression seriously. The academy strives to create a safe space for unique individual expression in an environment where artistic and athletic development is professionally mentored and supported.
TFAF Academy students and families recognize that through commitment to foundational, progressive training and performance, a student can flourish as a performing artist-athlete. The following principles guide the TFAF Academy program:

How does TFAF Academy work?
Academy is sold in sessions that are based off of the school year calendar. There are 3 trimesters per year, with 3 sessions in each trimester. The Summer Trimester scheduling is different and will coordinate with our Summer Circus Camps. The session lengths can vary from 5-7 weeks. Pricing works out to be $100 per week. Students that commit to the entire school year receive 10% off enrollment pricing.
Students may attend up to 10 academy eligible classes a week, per session. The minimum amount of recommended classes for academy students to make it financially worthwhile, is 4 a week.
Each trimester, Sessions I & II are dedicated to skill building and Session III is dedicated to performance development. There will be performance opportunities at the end of the Fall Trimester and Winter/Spring Trimester at our studio events (The Holiday Bazaar and A Day of Healing Arts, respectively).
During Sessions I & II, it is recommended that students attend at least one aerial skill based class per week and at least one conditioning, dance, or other skill based class per week. It is also recommended that the student choose which classes to attend for the duration of the session and maintain as consistent of a schedule as possible, as this will allow for skills development within each course. It is imperative for all levels that students build solid foundations before performing, and even seasoned aerialists need to revisit and refine their basic skills and conditioning to further develop their performances.
During Session III, it is recommended that students attend at least one aerial skill based class a week and at least one performance based class per week. This will also be the requirement for performing in the Holiday Bazaar, and A Day of Healing Arts as well as any other performance opportunities that arise. It is required that a student participate in at least two sessions of skill training, before performing.
Students MUST enroll in classes to attend. Enrollment is required through the MindBody app/desktop or our website TahoeFlow.com. This is REQUIRED to allow for instructors to plan effective class plans. There are limited spaces in a class that are first come first serve so the deadline for class enrollment is 2 hours in advance, and earlier enrollment is HIGHLY encouraged.
Cancellations for class attendance are also required 2 hours in advance so we can onboard students from the waitlist if necessary. Students who do not meet the cancellation deadline for a class are subject to a late cancellation fee. For help with enrollment please email Admin@TahoeFlow.com.
Students who are not enrolled, unpaid, or do not have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian will not be allowed to attend class. DO NOT drop off your student, without checking in with the teacher if you are unsure of enrollment, payment, waiver status, etc… Your student will be asked to wait outside the classroom for you to pick them up, and will not be allowed to attend class.
Youth classes will be canceled for the day if the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District calls a snow/smoke day. No credits or refunds will be given for inclement weather cancellations.
